A Kinfolk-Inspired Shoot
I draw so much inspiration from Kinfolk Magazine. So much so that Brandon from Novel Hill Studio and I put together our own Kinfolk-inspired shoot. We went to one of my not-so-secret locations that has a big fire ring. I had these great plans of shooting people making s’mores and hanging out by the fire. After hiking a mile to the fire pit, the park ranger kicked us out before we had a chance to shoot anything. So, we hiked a mile back to our starting point and improvised the rest. And while things may not have gone as planned or expected, I’m happy with the outcome. Moral of the story? Don’t wear a hot pink shirt while trespassing. Maybe I’ll wear hot orange next time, it’s much more discreet ![]()

Balboa Island Family Photos
I love shoots like this… meaning when we plan an activity and just let the kids be themselves and have fun. Recognize these kiddos? It’s probably because I’ve gotten to photograph them a couple times already ![]()
